About Me

I am a visual artist who now mainly uses photography to explore how I relate to the world. Coming from a fashion and photo styling background the basic thought is to stage the ideas that pop up in my head, mostly about the way people behave.

I have wondered about everything around me ever since my parents took me from Indonesia to Holland as a little girl. I felt highly aware of “the different other” and didn’t know how to relate.

At the age of twelve, my father gave me a camera and my wish to explore found it’s way into making photo’s of the people around me. I did this religiously, annoying my family and friends. My camera was a way of being with people.

My work is still about my interest in the behaviour of the “other”.

I am still wondering about how I can relate to the world around me and keep on searching for ways to express myself in visuals.
